It essentially doubles the quality at no additional performance impact. The net result is that with 2xMSAA, you get the same performance impact of 2xMSAA, but the quality of 4xMSAA. MFAA alternates these patterns every other frame. Multi-Frame Anti-Aliasing (MFAA) - MFAA is merely an Nvidia specific toggle for a special implementation of MSAA. And since 16x AF hasn't had a noticeable performance impact in about a decade, there's no harm in leaving it on. By forcing it in the CP, you get the benefit in every game.
